For the past year, we have been sharing our technical expertise and experience as an input to the drafting process of the 6th edition of the Guide to Safety at Sports Ground.

Our Chairman, Simon Ancliffe, and Associate Director, Dr Aoife Hunt, have contributed to the latest edition of the Green Guide.

The UK’s Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (aka the “Green Guide”) is one of the most referenced safety documents in the world. It is published by the Sports Ground Safety Authority, whose mission is to ensure that sports grounds offer a safe, welcoming and inclusive experience for all spectators. It forms the basis for licencing stadiums in the UK and underpins planning for large sporting and major events across the globe. The latest edition sees significant updates to the document, with further guidance provided to reflect the latest developments in the way sports grounds are designed and managed.

For the past year, we have been sharing our technical expertise and experience as an input to the drafting process. The 6th edition will see updated sections on crowd planning (including simulation modelling) and will introduce the concept of “Zone Ex”.

The new Green Guide was launched on 30th October at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
